53 Contestants Flip Pancakes to Raise Money for Children's Miracle Network

As they gear up for the 2010 Miss America Pageant on TLC January 30, the 53 contestants armed with forks and spatulas and donning aprons and their state sashes, gathered in Las Vegas for a pancake breakfast in honor of Children's Miracle Network. The contestants were also joined by very special children who have benefited from Children's Miracle Network hospitals.
Contestants hoped to raise awareness about IHOP's National Pancake Day celebration, nationwide fundraising effort that aims to raise $5 million in five years for Children's Miracle Network programs at children's hospitals and other local charities throughout the United States.
IHOP's fifth National Pancake Day celebration benefiting Children's Miracle Network is set to take place February 23, 2010, when nearly 1,400 IHOP restaurants nationwide will offer guests a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes in an effort to raise awareness and funds for Children's Miracle Network and other local charities. In 2010, IHOP hopes to raise $1.75 million, which will mark a cumulative $5 million raised in 5 years, all of which has gone - and will continue to go - directly to charities in the communities in which the money is raised.
